Retirement?  The Next Chapter

ree

Throughout my professional career, the word “Retirement” was seldom on my mind.  Although the subject popped up occasionally, it was always set aside, not because it was not important, but because it seemed so far off in the distance.   However, time marched on unobstructed, and it became clear that I needed to do some planning.

I have written previously about “Change” and the importance of embracing change.   In life, there are several inevitable milestones,

1.      We are Born

2.     We will Die

3.     We will pay taxes

4.     Change

Retirement, of course, would be a change, not more major than any other changes one has experienced, but a change because of the passing of time.  Thus, it was important to plan for it and enter this phase in life as positively and optimistically as possible.   I have always believed that we make the best of every situation professionally and personally.  Surely, retirement should be approached in this same manner.

Everyone around me told me that I was too young to retire and that I had many more years to contribute to the hospitality and attractions industry.  With over 40 years of experience in the industry, it would be appropriate to share and help develop future leaders for this rapidly growing industry.  This seems to be a very common progression for professionals.  There was a tremendous encouragement to become a consultant and remain active in the industry by helping others with the knowledge that has been acquired over the years.    So, I established ParkAd LLC.  There is so much to share, particularly in management, building relationships, sales, and marketing.

I have inspired and guided many over the years and want to continue sharing my experiences moving forward.   Can I help you and your team?   Contact me.
