What’s important to People…

While I am sure we all know this by heart and believe every word, a reminder is always useful.
Nobody will remember
Your job title
How ‘busy’ you were
How many hours you worked
What kind of car you drove
People will remember
How you made them feel
The advice you gave
If you kept your word
If you were there for them
What makes selling so special and so rewarding is that it is a process done with people. We interact with people, face people, act and react with people because we sell to people. People are the center of our universe. Thus, what could be more important than the people we encounter and work with every day?
In selling, there is never a moment where our prospects are not a priority.
Issac Newton taught us that “for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” Successful salespeople know that how they treat their prospects and their reaction will have an enormous effect on the outcome. Before we act, we anticipate the reaction, anticipating each step in dealing with different reactions. Every action we take should address how we make people feel. Our answers must represent good advice to people, and we must always be there for them.
This seems so natural and yet, it is not as simple at times. How a prospect remembers us and interacts with us will determine whether he becomes a customer. That is important to him; it should be important to you.
